Wandering Tattler – Shorebird Nomad

I love the name – wandering implies a nomadic lifestyle and tattler suggests gossip! These lovely shorebirds do migrate long distances and have a wide distribution.  Their alarm call is a high pitched series of whistles -apparently hence the name tattler. It is always good to see them in San Diego. These photos were taken on the Bird Rock coast, la Jolla, California.
