Penguin Island

We arrived in the South Shetland Islands next to the Antarctic Peninsula on New Year’s Eve.  That afternoon we piled into zodiacs and landed on Penguin Island where there is a large colony of Chinstrap Penguins. These are my favorite species of penguin in the Antarctic Peninsula. I love the delicate black lines on their faces!  In the video notice two tiny chicks sitting under a parent on the left side. They are adorable and covered in grey velvet down.
