My Favorite Iceberg

I spent New Year’s Day in the Antarctic Peninsula.  I had already seen many beautiful icebergs of all sorts of shapes and sizes – many of them glowing with that special blue that seems to come from within the ice. Suddenly an old iceberg with wonderful textures came into view.  I took several photographs as the ship sailed around it. There were some penguins resting on the ice and they give a good sense of scale.  This iceberg sums up what appeals to me so much about Antarctica – light, color, texture and movement.
